    This workshop will help you plan for your fall projects. 

    This  full-day classroom course is designed to acquaint landowners, land managers, agency personnel, contractors, consultants, and others with proven techniques and strategies for restoration and revegetation using native grassland species. 

    Experienced experts will cover topics including:

    • Site evaluation
    • Species selection
    • Site preparation
    • Planting techniques
    • Weed control
    • Long-term management
    At the end of the course, individuals who are planning, implementing, or managing native grassland projects should be able to apply many of the techniques and strategies learned in the course.


    Instructors: Vic Claassen, Soil Scientist, U.C. Davis Department of Land, Air and Water Resource; Miles DaPrato, U.C. Davis Putah Creek Riparian Preserve; J.P. Mari√©, U.C. Davis Putah Creek Riparian Reserve; Patrick Reynolds, Hedgerow Farms; Chris Rose, Solano County R.C.D.; Bryan Young, Sacramento Regional Wastewater - Bufferland.

    • We will provide morning coffee & snacks.
    • Bring your own lunch. We will spend lunchtime in the beautiful U.C. Davis Arboretum.
