Call for Abstracts! 

CNGA invites researchers, students, practitioners and professionals conducting research on native California grasslands to submit an abstract for our upcoming science symposium! 

February 6-7, 2025, Hopland Research and Extension Center (HREC), Hopland, CA 

Join us in celebration of the latest science on grassland ecosystems in California, with opportunities for dialog and collaboration among symposium participants. Each morning of this two-day conference will begin with keynote addresses from experts in the field and continue with themed sessions. Abstracts will be reviewed by select CNGA board members with acceptance based on abstract quality and relevance to the topics listed below. 

• Soil science 

• Vegetation and Wildlife Ecology 

• Conservation 

• Land Stewardship and Management Monitoring 

• Drought and Wildfire 

Presentation formats include: 

• Technical Talk (20-min) 

• Lightning Talk (5-min) 

• Poster

Deadline for Abstract Submission: November 15, 2024 

Onsite housing at the symposium is reserved for our speakers and is available on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited availability. We encourage speakers to submit their abstract as soon as possible to ensure a spot.

Registrants will be notified whether the abstract was accepted by December 6, 2024. To save your seat at the symposium, we highly encourage you to register for the event. 

Please note that all selected technical talk presenters will be required to submit an extended abstract, including research results, for printing in CNGA’s Grasslands journal summer 2025 issue.
