Soils are a plant’s best friend! Build your skills with soil scientist Vic Claassen:

  • Understand California’s grassland soil ecology
  • Learn contributing aspects of soil function including: hydrology, infiltration and moisture retention, soil nutrients and microbial activity.
  • Introduction to different soil analytical methods and potential treatm
  • ents.

A morning classroom instruction session is followed by an afternoon in the field to round out this full day of learning.

  • Morning coffee and snacks are included.
  • Please bring a sack lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen, hat and sturdy shoes.
  • Carpooling is recommended. Directions and carpool information will be sent to registered attendees.
